Pearl Oyster Grain Master Bag
Latin Name: Pleurotus ostreatus
Fruiting Temperature: 50–60 °F
A longtime favorite of mushroom hunters, fruiting nearly year-round in lowland hardwood forests. This mushroom is easy to grow and produces prolifically on a variety of substrates, including hardwood logs or sawdust, straw, spent coffee grounds and many agricultural waste products.
FP's ready-to-inoculate, pure mushroom Grain Spawn is offered in a disposable Spawn Bag with Filter Patch (approximate yield 1¼–1½ gallon). Each unit is a first- or second-generation Grain Master that can be expanded up to 1000 times its mass.
Each order of mushroom grain spawn is custom-made: lead time for grain spawn is 2–4 weeks from date of order.
Please note: Unlike our ready-to-grow Mushroom Patches and Mushroom Plug Spawn, our Grain Spawn does not come with instructions. It is assumed that the purchaser is sufficiently familiar with mushroom culture technique to utilize these cultures. The books Growing Gourmet & Medicinal Mushrooms and The Mushroom Cultivator are essential tools in this endeavor.
By purchasing Mushroom Grain Spawn, the customer agrees to the terms of the Mushroom Spawn Sale Agreement.
Please note: depending on a number of factors, it may be necessary to ship your order via an expedited shipping process in order to ensure the viability. If this is necessary, your order will be placed on hold until a Customer Service Representative can contact you to present your shipping options and costs.
Shipping to Hawaii
The Hawaii State Department of Agriculture has recently increased their restrictions on the importation of live mushroom mycelium into the islands. This affects the sale of Fungi Perfecti's Indoor and Outdoor Mushroom Patches, Plug Spawn for Log and Stump Cultivation, and Pure Mushroom Spawn and Cultures. Customers in Hawaii wishing to purchase any of these products will need to first apply for and receive an Import Permit from the HSDA Plant Quarantine Branch. Additionally, importation of our MycoGrow™ products is completely prohibited.
The permit can be downloaded in Adobe Acrobat format online here. If you have further questions, you can contact Fungi Perfecti or speak directly to Amy Takahashi at the Hawaii State Department of Agriculture, 1428 S. King Street, Honolulu, HI 96814. Phone: (808) 832-0589.
