Latin Name: Pholiota nameko
Fruiting Temperature:
 50–60 °F

A popular cultivated mushroom in Japan, the Nameko grows on broadleaf hardwoods such as oak, beech and poplar, and can also grow on conifer wood. Fruits well on buried logs or sawdust/chips/bran. Enjoys cool temperatures.

FP's ready-to-inoculate, pure mushroom Grain Spawn is offered in a disposable Spawn Bag with Filter Patch (approximate yield 1¼–1½ gallon). Each unit is a first- or second-generation Grain Master that can be expanded up to 1000 times its mass.

Each order of mushroom grain spawn is custom-made: lead time for grain spawn is 6–8 weeks from date of order.

Please note: Unlike our ready-to-grow Mushroom Patches and Mushroom Plug Spawn, our Grain Spawn does not come with instructions. It is assumed that the purchaser is sufficiently familiar with mushroom culture technique to utilize these cultures. The books Growing Gourmet & Medicinal Mushrooms and The Mushroom Cultivator are essential tools in this endeavor.

By purchasing Mushroom Grain Spawn, the customer agrees to the terms of the Mushroom Spawn Sale Agreement.

Shipping to Hawaii
The Hawaii State Department of Agriculture has recently increased their restrictions on the importation of live mushroom mycelium into the islands. This affects the sale of Fungi Perfecti's Plug Spawn for Log and Stump Cultivation and Pure Mushroom Spawn and Cultures. Customers in Hawaii wishing to purchase any of these products will need to first apply for and receive an Import Permit from the HSDA Plant Quarantine Branch. Additionally, importation of our MycoGrow™ products is completely prohibited.

The permit can be downloaded in Adobe Acrobat format online here.
