Grilled Portobellos
From bluestain4.
A great substitute for a steak.
1. First you must prepare the basting sauce. It consists of:
two tbsp of butter
two tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
Warm these ingredients on the stove top.
2. Next you will want to remove the stems from your mushrooms. Then you will wash the caps of the mushrooms. Next take some pieces of garlic clove and stick them into the gills of the mushrooms. Now sprinkle them with seasoned salt and I like Italian seasoning.
3. Now you are ready for the grill. Turn the grill on high for five minutes to warm it up, Then cook on high making sure your grill is well oiled for a no stick cooking. Before you add the mushrooms you must LIGHTLY oil them with the olive oil sauce. Remember mushrooms are over 90% water so if you oil them heavily they will be mushy and rubber-like, instead of being crisp on the outside and moist on the inside.
The cooking process should take any where from 10–15 minutes depending on the size and preferences of the Portobellos.
